Vietnam Visa Requirements


To meet the Vietnam visa requirements, travelers need to prepare a set of essential documents. This applies to individuals from countries without a visa exemption agreement with Vietnam. For specific visa types, such as business or work visas, additional documents may be necessary based on the purpose of the visit.

Visa Requirements

– Temporary passports may not be accepted.
Photos– Two recent passport-sized photos (4×6 cm).
– No glasses allowed in the photo.
Application Form– M3 entry/exit form (required for visa on arrival).
Stamping Fee– Payable in cash upon arrival for visa on arrival:
* $25 USD for single entry.
* $50 USD for multiple entries.
Approval Letter– Required for obtaining a visa on arrival at Vietnam’s airports.
Passport Bio Page Scan– Needed for e-visa applications.
Credit/Debit Cards– Required for online payment of e-visa fees.
Proof of Onward Travel– Required for visa-exempt travelers to show onward travel plans.

  • If you’re transiting through a Vietnamese airport, it’s essential to check with your airline regarding any Vietnam visa requirements.
  • Travelers heading directly to Phu Quoc Island by boat or plane from another country and staying for less than 30 days do not need a Vietnam visa.
