Vietnam visa for French citizens
Do French passport holders require a visa for traveling to Vietnam?
A Vietnam visa for French citizens is not required.
According to Vietnam Immigration Regulations issued on 19 JUNE 2017, VALID UNTIL 30 JUNE 2019, French citizens currently living in France or in other countries, holding ordinary passport which is valid for at least 6 months beyond the date of arrival, are in Vietnam visa exemption list with visa-free length of staying of less than 15 days in Vietnam and single entry/exit.
Please also note that after your 1st visa exemption period, you need to wait for at least 01 month more to enjoy the next visa exemption period. You must apply to get a Vietnam visa if this gap is less than 01 month, for your next entry to Vietnam after the first visa-exempted entry.
Accordingly:
A. If a French citizen’s length of stay in Vietnam is LESS THAN 15 days, Vietnam Visa is EXEMPTED
B. If a French citizen’s length of stay in Vietnam is more than 15 days, Vietnam Visa is OBLIGATORILY REQUIRED.
